Many years ago my mother Alma Lee McCOWIN, wrote a book, Pioneers All (3 vols. available in Logan FHC). I am amazed and delighted by the cousins who have found me through that book. One lives with his family in Australia and spells his name McCOWN. Another lives in Kansas City and spells his name McCOWAN. He has connected me with another relative in Seattle, who has turned out to be a dear, dear friend. Just recently a cousin in Bountiful contacted me, sent me pictures of the tombstones of our joint ancestors in the Bountiful Cemetery, and even came to see me when I was in the hospital in Bountiful. I and two other McCOWINS were blessed to go to Australia and visit our absolutely delightful relatives. There are also many relatives in Ohio. I have visited them several times, gone on trips with them and was always just one of the family. These are all choice people. I just wanted you to know what effect a book can have over the miles.
