I recently read a history of my husband's great great grandmother who was divorced by her husband to satisfy the goverment right after the Edmund's Tucker Act was passed. It was very similar to a history on my side of the family during that same time period. The similarities made me curious as to what happened to those second and third wives during that time frame of around 1887. I am interested in collaborating with others who have histories of polygamous wives during this time frame. I want to know, what happened to these wives? How did they survive when the government refused to even let the men send money to their wives or the men would be put in prison? If anyone is interested in helping me, they can contact Nancy at this e-mail fullerfarms@yahoo.com and put Edmund's Tucker Act in the subject line.
