I have hit a brick wall on the family of Frances McGEE. She married James M. McDANIEL in Gallia County, Ohio in 1840. Frances is the daughter of William McGEE and Rebecca FOUGHT. I believe they were all born in Virginia/West Virginia. Of course West Virginia did not become a separate state until after the Civil War.
